FAQs

What happens if my pet passes away at night or on the weekend?

Our phones are answered by one of our staff members on-call until about 9 pm each evening, 365 days a year. We start answering calls at 9 am each day. If we don’t immediately answer, leave a message, and we’ll call you back. We can arrange for someone to meet you at our facility after hours or weekends by appointment only. We can also pick up your pet from your home. Two pet emergency clinics in Shreveport and Bossier City are open nights and weekends, and you could carry your pet there for us to pick up.

How do I know I’m only getting my pet’s remains back?

We have a pet tracking software program called AngelPaw in which your pet has a secure barcode placed on him/her at pickup and stays with them throughout the entire process. This system has checks and balances built within it to ensure we do everything you request before cremation or burial, and make sure you only get your pet back home. It’s the best, most secure, program available to the pet industry that is used on every pet whose family requests private cremation.

What are the hours of your cemetery?

Our cemetery grounds are always open for visiting from daylight to dusk.

What are your normal office hours?

Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm. We do not close for lunch.

Is there an extra charge to pick up from my vet’s office?

No. As long as your vet’s office is in Shreveport or Bossier City. There is an additional mileage fee if we travel beyond this area.

Can I pre-plan for these services?

Yes, we allow pre-planned arrangements. If you would like to pre-plan for your pet, you can give us a call or enter the information required on our website, making sure to choose the service requirement that most accurately fits your needs. When it is time for your need for our services, let us know we have begun pre-planned arrangements and we can start our processes from there.

Can I provide my own urn?

Yes, you may provide an urn. If you choose to do so, pricing for your pet’s cremation will be the cost of the Compassion package based on your pet’s weight category. Instead of the silver metal urn we usually substitute a blue velvet bag for the remains to easily slide inside of the urn you purchased.

What vet offices do we work with?

We work with all vets in the Shreveport/Bossier area. Even extending as far as Minden, Vivian, Waskom, Coushatta, Desoto, Homer, and Natchitoches. If you would like to use our services, please let your vet know before you leave the clinic.

Do pets that are buried have a funeral service?

We offer a funeral service for burial pets for an additional fee; as well as a viewing time period, if requested.. Please give us a call to discuss your expectations for the service and to schedule arrangements for when you would like the service to take place. Some families prefer us to handle the burial then call them to come out privately when it’s convenient for them. We’ll work with you one on one to best meet your needs.

What is National Pet Memorial Day?

National Pet Memorial Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of September each year. It’s a day to honor and remember pets, both past and present, and to recognize the important role they play in our lives. We honor this day by hosting a memorial service in our office at 6pm and invite you to join us.

Can I cremate a pet already buried?

Yes. Most families that ask this question are moving from the home they’ve previously buried their pet at and don’t want to leave them there. If you choose this option, you can exhume the remains and we can pick up from your home or you can deliver to us for a private cremation so they’ll be with you forever.

Is my pet the only pet in the crematory at one time?

The inside dimensions of the crematory are approximately 7 feet in length by 4 feet in width. This space can accommodate a pet up to a 275 lb. If pets are smaller, then the crematory is divided into zones in which adequate space is placed between pets. We assign a specific zone for your pet that is recorded on both paper and in our pet tracking software system.  During the cremation process, the remains do not move around making it easy to define and sweep out only your pet at the end of the process.
